CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Saracen Rue
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
AGE: This is never explicitly stated, but he's old enough to have fought in a war that lasted centuries and ended in the early 1900s, so I headcanon him to be in the neighbourhood of 250. He looks like he's in his mid-to-late 20s.
CANON POINT: In the middle of the eighth book, Last Stand of Dead Men, right after the Australian and African Sanctuaries rescue the Dead Men from the middle of France.

BACKGROUND: This is the general Skulduggery Pleasant canon wiki. Take with a grain of salt, etc., as the wiki has been known to be flat-out wrong. Saracen specifically is over here, but again, the wiki is not very kind to minor characters.

I should also note that because Saracen is a minor character, I play him with a sizeable amount of both magic and backstory headcanon, the details of which are here.

INCENTIVE/FIT: At Saracen's canon point, Irish sorcerers are officially at war with the rest of the world (barring the Australian and African Sanctuaries). Saracen's never really been a fan of war. If he was approached by someone offering him a miracle in exchange for some consequence-free time off outside of the timeline, Saracen would leap on the opportunity without hesitation - his magic, his lifestyle, and his experiences all mean he wouldn't need to be convinced that the opportunity is possible. After some thought, he would ask for one of the Dead Men, Hopeless, not to have died during the war with Mevolent a century before.

Otherwise, he would absolutely welcome a break from having to worry about the fate of the world for a while, and he's got absolutely no problems cuddling with strangers. He's canonically known for not having sexual hang-ups in any way, shape, or form, and due to a long life of nearly constant travel, he can happily fit in almost anywhere.

ANYTHING ELSE?
Saracen's magic involves sending his own mind back in time - no more than a few minutes - and reliving events as the only one who remembers what happened. In canon, this makes it possible for him to 'know things', and to be able to describe to the group exactly what they're about to encounter at any given moment. In RP, however, his magic is a little more difficult to juggle for obvious reasons. I'm happy to defer to whatever the mods decide, especially if it's full-on magic nerfing.

Regardless of what's ultimately decided, however, I will never assume Saracen knows anything about a character or situation without full OOC contact and permission with everyone involved. Saracen's an insatiable show-off, but he's not cruel or manipulative, and he tends to use his magic more for self-defence and the defence of loved ones than anything malicious. He would also (reluctantly) agree to a contract with the Eudio representatives in which he cannot use his magic unless he has the knowledge and consent of everyone involved.
